Housed in a 2U rackmounting case, the 160S is a 2-channel compressor/limiter with the addition of dbx's proprietary PeakStopPlus limiter on the output. Metering is via moving-coil meters rather than the more usual LED ladders, and full side-chain access is available. The heavy aluminium front panel is blue anodized, and all the controls, buttons included, have a heavy, smooth feel. The only thing that separates the 160 from the 160SL is the SL has an auto velocity feature. They are identical machines. This unit could easily found ranging up to $3000 used. This Unit is VST tech refurbished but the only way you could tell is that it isn't in a manufacturer box. It's only flaw is that it isn't being used.Make it flawless.
